Seed Testing Basics
How long does it take to get results?
Turnaround time depends on the test type. Germination, Physical Purity, and Moisture tests are typically completed within 3–7 working days. Genetic Purity testing via Grow-Out Test (GOT) requires a full crop season, while molecular tests (MGPT and SGBL) deliver results much faster since they don’t require field cultivation.
We keep clients updated at every stage of testing, from sample receipt to final report generation, so you always know where your seed lot stands.
Can I receive a copy of my test results?
Yes. Once testing is complete, you will receive a detailed report covering the results of your requested test, along with the methodology used and reference standards followed (ISTA/IMSCS). Reports can be provided digitally or as a printed certified copy on request.
What is the difference between GOT and molecular genetic purity testing?
The Grow-Out Test (GOT) is a field-based method where seeds are grown to maturity to visually verify trueness-to-type it takes a full season but remains a widely accepted industry standard. MGPT and SGBL use PCR and SSR molecular markers respectively to verify genetic purity at the DNA level, delivering results in days instead of months, without needing field cultivation.
